Verona Aquatic Facility Rules

Verona Diving Safety Rules

The swim test administered for children 12 and under in order to use the diving well is as follows:

Swim 25 yards non-stop front crawl with your head in the water using rhythmic breathing. Starting at the 7ft side of the lane and ending at the 3ft part of the lane. You can have two chances to do the test in one day.

No head first entries into water less than 5 feet deep.
Do not run on the Diving Board.
One bounce only. (except during diving team practice)
Do not dive off the side of the diving board.
One person on the board at a time
No Hanging off of the end or the side of the diving board
No one in the diving well when someone is going off of the diving board

Pool Area Rules

Do not bring food, drink, gum, or tobacco into the pool.
Do not bring animals into the pool area.
Glass and shatterable objects are prohibited in the pool area.
No outside shoes allowed on the pool deck.
Only Coast Guard Approved flotation devices are allowed.
Do not swallow or spit water.
NO recording or photographing in locker room/bathroom areas.

Health and Hygiene

Do not enter the pool if you have a communicable disease or an open cut.
Do not swim if you are ill with diarrhea or have had diarrhea within the past two weeks.
Showers are required before entering the pool and after use of toilet facilities.
Diaper changing on the deck is prohibited.
Non-toilet-trained individuals are required to wear swim diapers.
Guests with long hair must have it tied up or wear a swim cap.
Guests must wear swimming-related clothing when in the pool.

Behavior and Safety

Do not run or engage in rough play in the pool area.
No long-term breath holding is permitted. Do not play breath-holding games.
Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a responsible person 15 years of age or older.
Children ages 7 and under must be actively supervised by an adult in the water and within arm's reach.
One adult (18+) must be present for every 2 children ages 6 and under.
Any child under 12 must be actively supervised by an adult in the pool area.
Children over the age of 12 may swim unaccompanied by an adult.
Swimmers under the age of 14 must pass a swim test on site to be allowed in the deep end.
Only strong swimmers are allowed in the deep end.

Pool and Personal Equipment Usage

Verona Monofin and Mermaid Tail Safety Rules

Monofin can be used during lap swim and open swim times.
Children under 15 must have completed level 6 swimming lessons in order to use monofins/mermaid tails during open swim.
Anyone over the age of 15 must pass a swimming test before using monofins/mermaid tails in the facility. (Swim test - Swim freestyle 50 meters without stopping with head in the water and rhythmic breathing. Be able to easily swim from freestyle to backstroke without touching the bottom)

US Coast Guard Approved Flotation Devices

A Coast Guard approval label or mark should be located on the Inside of any approved life jacket.
The label typically includes the USCG approval number.
This label gives you information about the device's performance level (often using icons for buoyancy, turn ability, and suitability for activities), and details like the manufacturer and lot number.
Only puddle jumper with attached arms are USCG approved. Detachable arms ate NOT approved nor permitted in the pool.

Policies

What is RecDesk? RecDesk is our online system that helps us facilitate an easier check-in process for you when you arrive at one of our facilities. Plus, your account offers many convenient features, including:

Program Registration: Sign up for any program offered by VASD Aquatics.
Membership Management: Purchase or renew memberships and punch cards.
Household Management: Add family members to your account for easy access.
NOTE: You will be considered "resident if your home address belongs to the Verona Area School District - VASD

Program Registrations

Class Enrollment -

Participants are limited to one (1) class registration per session. Any enrollments that fall under the following conditions will not be eligible for refunds or credits:

Registering for more than one class per session
Enrolling in an incorrect class
Choosing to cancel or withdraw from a class

Class Withdrawal -

Participants must request to withdraw at least 7 days before the program start date. No credits will be issued for requests made fewer than 7 days in advance. All requests must be submitted in writing.

Program Modifications -

All classes must meet a minimum number of participants. VASD Aquatics reserves the right to cancel, combine, or make schedule revisions as necessary

Missed Lessons - Absences

Occasionally, students may need to miss a lesson. VASD Aquatics does not offer make-up lessons or issue refunds for missed lessons.

Fecal Accident -

If a fecal accident occurs during a swim lesson session, in-water instruction will pause, and the class will continue with water safety instruction on deck. Make-up lessons will not be offered for time lost due to such incidents.

Locker Rooms Policy

To ensure a smooth transition between swim sessions and maintain facility operations, we kindly ask all swimmers to exit the locker rooms within 15 minutes after their swim concludes. This policy applies to morning, daytime, and evening swim times.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide a clean and efficient space for all our guests.
