Blended Learning Lifeguard Training Course
Take this course and become an American Red Cross certified lifeguard. Individuals must complete Preliminary work and pass a skill test that includes the following:
Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.
Complete a timed event within 1 min, 40 seconds.
Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.
Pre-requisites: Ages 15 & up

Must have current Lifeguard Training certification.
Pre-requisite Skills:
300 yard swim- front crawl, breaststroke, or combination of either.
Swim 20 yard approach, retrieve 10 pound brick from bottom of pool and return back 20 yards to starting point.

Lifeguard Instructor Course
The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Basic Lifeguarding Instructor Course is to train instructors to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses (Lifeguarding, Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding, and Shallow Water Lifeguarding).
Instructor candidates must:
Be at least 17 years of age by the last day of the instructor course.
Possess a current basic-level certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
Successfully complete the online Introduction to the Lifeguarding Instructor Course prior to the pre-course skills session.
Successfully complete the pre-course skills session and practice & polish session.
